Our Story
It Started with Paper. It Became Something More.
Yona DIY began in Barcelona in late 2019. A few months later, the pandemic changed everyday life, and we found ourselves spending far more time at home than we had ever expected.
Like many people, we turned to making things with our hands to pass the time. What we didn’t expect was how much we would enjoy watching a flat sheet of paper become something three-dimensional.
Fold by fold, piece by piece, our attention shifted. The restlessness of being stuck indoors began to give way to a quieter rhythm. There was something comforting about working with our hands and seeing a little progress take shape in front of us.
We wanted to share that feeling.
More Making, Fewer Obstacles
Our first designs were printable templates. Since then, they have grown into the pre-cut kits we offer today.
Along the way, we have revisited shapes, revised instructions, and refined our designs again and again. Each change has had the same purpose: to help you spend less time figuring out what to do and more time enjoying the making.
We don’t believe the experience begins only when the finished model is on your shelf. It is there in the folds, the small discoveries, and the moment you realise, “I’m actually making this.”
The Stories You’ve Shared
As our community grew, you showed us that a papercraft kit could mean much more than we had imagined.
Some customers described making as a calming break from a busy mind. One parent told us that while her child was absorbed in a project, she found a rare moment to herself.
Another customer, who had recently lost her Frenchie, told us how meaningful it felt to have a little likeness of her companion resting on her bedside table.
These stories stay with us. They remind us that the same kit can become something different in every person’s hands: a quiet afternoon, a shared memory, a small source of comfort, or simply something you feel proud to have made.
What Will Your Story Be?
We’ll keep designing, refining, and making room for those moments.
Choose something that speaks to you, find a comfortable spot, and take it one fold at a time.
We can’t wait to hear your story.
